The ABM-30, is the world’s smallest gyroscopic mapping device., It is the perfect mapping solution for small diameter data & power cable ducts, HDD drillings and even house connections.
This small duct mapping system is a technological breakthrough in the world of utility mapping. With an ID range of 29mm to 34mm (1.1” to 1.4”), it can map any DN40 / 1¼” duct, regardless of its SDR.
The ABM-30 sonde is equipped with gyroscopic MEMS technology and is suitable to map duct segments up to 300m (1000”) length between waypoints.
The probe’s outer diameter is just 25mm / 1”, and in combination with the smart foam spacer solutions it stays perfectlty centered and can negotiate even the sharpest flowing curves.
And to top it all off, it is delivered with clever rechargeable lithium batteries that have a built-in micro-USB charging port, eliminating the need for bulky chargers..

Like our other underground utility mapping systems, the mapping process typically takes less than an hour per segment. The standard ABM-30 system data output includes 3D as-built, highly accurate inclination and depth information, precise length and 2D and 3D bend radius data. The small duct mapping system at 100 Hz (100 samples per second), making its output highly suitable for calculating cable tension and identifying potential high stress areas.
The ABM technology is not affected by electromagnetic noise, making it the ideal solution for mapping ducts and pipes near electric train tracks rails and high voltage cables. It is not necessary to trace the probe from above ground, it can pass under waterways, buildings and other obstacles.
The ABM-30’s data output is compatible with all common GIS platforms and visualization software’s.
