Technology
Reduct Mapping Systems are the world standard for gyroscopic mapping technology, both in duct and pipe diameter range and performance. Some of the unique features of Reduct systems are:
Autonomous logging
No need to trace the probe as it travels through the underground duct or pipe. Access to the end point(s) is all that is required.
No electromagnetic interference
Ideal to use near live power lines, heavily urbanized areas, railways, etc.
3D results at speed
Traveling at up to 2m/6’ per second ensures minimal downtime for network operations, installation crews and fiber blowing crews.
High frequency logging
One hundred samples per second ensure the accurate measurement of bend radius, undulations, and fused weld location.
Easy to operate
A trained crew can produce a 3D GIS result of a pipe segment within an hour after arriving on site.
Accurate 3D profiling
Gyroscopes, accelerometers and similar inertial sensors lie at the heart of inertial pipeline mapping technology. Imagine that the probe is an arrow that is perfectly aligned with the orientation of the pipe. One hundred times per second the sensors record the change in the direction in which the arrow is pointing. Two integrated odometers record the distance traveled per sample, thus giving each sample a length. Place all samples in sequence and there you have it: an accurate 3D profile of the pipe segment mapped.
